Banking Terms Overview

1)Bank Rate: The rate at which banks  barrow funds from RBI (6%)

2)Reverse Repo Rate : The rate at which reserve bank  barrow money from banks
3)Repo rate : when ever banks have insufficient funds , they can barrow money from RBI . the rate at which banks can barrow money from RBI  . But this is not same as Bank Rate . Repo rate is for controlling the money in the market. Bank rate is for longterm monetary funds - 4.75%
4)SLR: Statutory Liquid Ratio is the amount of money that every bank has to maintain in terms of cash,gold and govt security bonds  before providing credit  to the customers .  This is to compel all the banks to keep money interms of Govt security bonds .SLR will be maintained by the RBI in order to control the expansion of bank credit

5)CRR :  cash reserve ratio is a ratio in which some amount of the funds  should   keep with RBI . 
               if they decided to increase this percentage ,then banks available amount will be reduced .
this is to drain out the excessive money from the bank .
6) Inflation : if demend is more and supply is less then cost of the product will be increased that is called as inflation , deflation is revers of this .
