Network Insights
  • Mobile:
As we know, people are buying Smartphones and spending more time on them. Mobile technology is growing fast as people are on the go. As this trend continues:
                  - Mobile-driven e-commerce sales will continue to increase
                  - Technology will continuously evolve
                  - Shopping applications will be developed by both publishers and advertisers

                  - It's time to start planning, developing and implementing a mobile solution now
  • In a recent Google Affiliate Network mobile advertiser survey, 46% of respondents have a mobile site. 56% have implemented or are in the process of implementing conversion tracking to their mobile site. The remaining respondents plan to add a mobile site to their marketing mix within the next year.
  • According to an Internet Retailer Survey on Mobile Commerce, only 8.8% of retail organizations currently operate a mobile commerce site. But 75.9% of retailers expect to launch a mobile commerce site. Of those, 31.9% expect to be selling through mobile phones in under six months and another 52.6% in less than one year.
  • Historical trending data based on network-wide retail volume:
As you can see from the below, apparel, department stores and books are historically the top performing categories as people get ready for back to school. Shopping days shift to beginning of week and the month tends to peak in the middle. This data can help you plan for when to feature top promotions and the types of products people are buying.

  • Search Trends:
Using Google Insights for Search, you can see consumers are shoe shopping and portable electronics hold strong. Looking at rising searches, we see people are preparing fresh drinks, getting ready for school, transitioning their babies into beds and interested in bathtubs. If these products are a good fit for your site, be sure to promote them by using product feeds or by creating top-selling product links and use product-specific promotions.
